PPAI In Action: Association Launches Facebook Page For End Users
Issue: 2009jul
Recognizing the increasingly relevant role of social media in promotional products business, PPAI has expanded its end-user education efforts by creating a Facebook page.
“Social media sites, specifically Facebook, are about assembling online communities and encouraging two-way communication between groups—in this case, the Association and the end buyers of promotional products,” says PPAI Communications Coordinator Erica Edwards.
Edwards, who will maintain the site, says it will include recent statistical data on the industry, viral videos, photos of award-winning campaigns and more. The primary goal is to educate buyers about promotional products on a larger scale, and also to create a community of end buyers who are proud users of promotional products.
She adds that one hoped-for byproduct of the site is that it will “help us grow evangelists for promotional products at a grassroots level.
“People who sign up to ‘Become a Fan’ want to know more, and through our Facebook presence we can educate them about the power of promotional products and hopefully persuade them to spread the message,” she says.
