PPAI News: PPAI Leadership Conference Zeroes In On Business Practices
Issue: 2009aug
Corporate culture, social media and the economy are the stars of the sessions that attendees can participate in during the PPAI North American Leadership Conference, August 23-25 in Chicago, Illinois.
Session leaders are experts in their fields and will share solutions-based ideas that facilitate growth and results, says Kip Eads, CAE, PPAI professional development manager.
The North American Leadership Conference is the ideal opportunity to view the industry through an international lens and gain a new perspective on how local business is influenced by global issues.
Professional speaker, author and corporate culture expert Larry Johnson, CSP, will kick off the conference on Monday, August 24, with a general session titled “Building a Corporate Culture of Straight Talk and Integrity: Essentials For Thriving.”
Based on his book by the same title, Johnson’s session will address the questions related to ethical business practices that many in corporate America ask when dealing with other companies.
Later Monday, noted economic forecaster Alan Beaulieu will show how the global economy in its current state has the potential to affect promotional products businesses.
Beaulieu is a senior analyst, economist and principal with the Institute for Trend Research, which has provided analytical snapshots of economic trends for such media outlets as the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and CBS Radio.
The next day’s general session also promises meaty conversation thanks to social media guru Giovanni Gallucci. On Wednesday, August 26, Galluci will provide some expert perspective on building company brands through the use of such media sites as Facebook and Twitter.
Gallucci is a former .NET programmer who has developed pre-Google vertical search engines and designed, developed and employed some of the earliest online communities. He provides social media marketing services through Simply Interactive and other interactive agencies and public relations firms.
The conference, co-sponsored by La Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales de la Promoción A.C. (AMPPRO) and Promotional Product Professionals of Canada (PPPC), also promises relevant and timely breakout sessions devoted to addressing the most pressing issues in promotional products today.
