Case Study: Bandannas Promote Pet Health
By: Audrey Sellers, Associate Editor Issue: 2009sep
Summertime is a risky season for pets with soaring temperatures, potentially toxic lawn fertilizers and an increase in mosquitoes, fleas and ticks. This is why Jennifer Sander, national account executive with Atlanta, Georgia-based distributor Capital Ideas, Inc. (UPIC: CAPI0002), stepped up with an awareness campaign for Schering-Plough promoting animal health.
Sander needed a way to reach pet owners far and wide and remind them that their pets needed regular checkups, so she ordered 20,000 pet bandannas from Greenville, South Carolina-based supplier Caro-Line (UPIC: BANDANNA). The bandannas, which are made from 100-percent cotton and offered in two sizes and up to 16 colors, went to veterinary offices for distribution.
“The bandannas are eye-catching and have more staying power than toys or other pet promotional items,” Sander says. “They worked so well [last year] that we decided to order them again this year.”
