Sanford B2B To Consolidate Decorating Operations, Relocate Some Employees
Issue: 2009aug
Janesville, Wisconsin-based supplier Sanford Business-to-Business (UPIC: SANFORD) announced a decision to consolidate all decoration operations into the company’s existing decoration facility in Mexicali, Mexico.
This decision supports a company objective of more closely integrating and aligning with the parent company’s global manufacturing strategy, while consolidating facilities with excess capacity. The Mexicali facility currently imprints products for Sanford B2B and its dedicated decoration area will be expanded to accommodate all types of customization for all product lines currently offered.
“We are committed to delivering outstanding products and service, with no business disruptions, while these moves are underway,” says John Newcomb, Janesville site leaders and senior manager for B2B customer operations.
Sanford B2B is also relocating sales and administrative staff to its parent company’s global office products headquarters in Oakbrook, Illinois. The move, expected to take place by the end of the first quarter of 2010, will enable Sanford B2B to maintain its high level of customer service while working more closely with the company’s writing instrument leadership team.
“This consolidation offers Sanford B2B the opportunity to better tap into resources at our corporate office to further enhance our marketing efforts and strengthen our partnership with our loyal distributors,” says Kristie Schnier, B2B director of sales and channel marketing. She and her staff will operate out of the Oakbrook office; no changes to Sanford B2B’s external sales organization are anticipated at this time.
This announcement is being made to the industry well in advance in order to effect a seamless transition for Sanford B2B customers. Customers are encouraged to continue working with their sales representatives as usual.
