PPAI News: PPAI Congratulates Hall Of Fame, Distinguished Service Award Recipients

PPAI has selected this year’s Hall of Fame and Distinguished Service Award recipients. The Hall of Fame award honorees are Wingfield (Wing) Hughes, MAS, and Kurt Reckziegel, and the Distinguished Service Award honorees are Mike Burns, CAS, and Christopher Duffy, MAS.

Hughes is president of Riverview, Florida-based Forrester-Smith, Inc., a division of Lewiston, Maine-based distributor Geiger (UPIC: geiger). He currently serves on the board of Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF). He is past chairman of PPAI and Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF) and has served on PPAI’s government relations committee, strategic planning committee and leadership advisory committee. In 2003, Hughes was named a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award.

Reckziegel is the immediate past president and CEO of Promotional Product Professionals of Canada. He also served as president of the International Federation of Promotional Products Associations (IFPPA), an organization founded by PPAI, PPPC, AMPPRO and groups from Europe and Australasia. Reckziegel is a recipient of the PPPC Lifetime Achievement Award.

Burns is president of Akron, Ohio-based supplier Quikey Manufacturing (UPIC: QUIKEY), and his company is a past recipient of several Supplier Star awards. He has served on the PPAI Board of Directors, and has received the 2005 Leadership Award for his work with PPAI’s strategic planning committee.

Duffy is senior vice president of marketing for Union, Illinois-based supplier BAG MAKERS, Inc. (UPIC: BAGMAKRS). He is a member of the Association’s public relations committee and has also served on the education committee and the promotional apparel advisory council. He is an active participant in PPAI’s ADvocate program and received a PPAI Distinguished Speaker Award in 2001.

The recipients of the Hall of Fame Award will be honored at The PPAI Expo 2010 on Wednesday, January 14, during PPAI’s Awards Presentation and Dinner. The Distinguished Service Award recipients will be honored at a separate ceremony during Expo week--watch PPB Newslink for details.
