Promotional Consultant Magazine Introduces Interactive, All-Digital Edition


The August/September issue of PPAI’s Promotional Consultant (PC) magazine has made its debut as an interactive, digital publication designed to be read exclusively online. As readers mouse through the pages, they will encounter audio, video and animation in both ads and articles. The double-month issue was distributed last week to 70,000 promotional products professionals.

First introduced as a bi-monthly, digest-sized print publication in January 2006, the magazine quickly gained a solid following of readers who clamored for the potent and focused articles geared specifically for distributor salespeople. The new digital format retains all of its educational strength yet engages readers on a whole new level by offering rotating photos, pop-up sidebars, pull-down sections and story spreads that practically leap off the screen. Readers can also turn on their speakers to hear interviews with industry sources.

The publication’s 21st century format offers a fresh and original type of interaction for the promotional products industry, says Managing Editor Pamela Webb. “PC’s new format is really huge news for our readers because we’ve made reading fun again. Within five minutes of sending out the link to PC’s first issue, I received an e-mail from a distributor reader who said, ‘You have really done it this time! This is the coolest thing since e-mail! I am amazed by the graphics and the infusion of sound into this publication. I really look forward to reading the whole thing and receiving the next one.’ We are definitely on to something really big.”

Readers are not the only ones intrigued with PC’s new format—it also offers many valuable extras for advertisers such as the ability to add links, audio, video and animation to their ads. And the best part is that every PPB advertiser gets an ad included in PC for free.
