PPAI News: PPAI Participates In Forum Think Tank
Issue: 2009oct
The Forum For People Performance Management and Measurement held its 2nd Annual Think Tank to bring together thought leaders from corporate America, recognition and incentive practitioners, researchers and top educators to discuss the role of human capital in the workplace.
PPAI Executive Vice President Paul Bellantone, CAE, serves on the Board of Trustees of the Forum and attended along with former PPAI chairman Paul Kiewiet, MAS, president of BrandKiwi, LLC/Mercury Promotions and Fulfillment (UPIC: kiwi).
Other PPAI members participating in the discussions were Tom Miller from Colleyville, Texas-based distributor The Miller Company (UPIC:MIL0006) and Mark Repkin from The Certif-A-Gift Company (UPIC:CERTIF).
The Forum is a research center within the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications graduate program at Northwestern University. The Forum has sponsored highly respected, academic research on the positive business outcomes of people-based initiatives, incentives and motivation for both internal and external branding.
The program, titled “Who’s in Charge Now? Thriving in an Employee-Led Economy,” focused on new research and findings that suggest a shift from employee engagement strategies to employee enrichment. The discussions included new strategies for leadership in enriching the workplace.
The recent economic slowdown has been indicative of a structural shift, and many traditional business models are being destroyed. The participants discussed the implications across several industries and the economy as a whole.
Kiewiet will outline the key takeaways from this conference in an upcoming PPB article, “Doing Business In The Brave New World.”
