Charitable Contributions: Vernon Co. Exceeds United Way Fundraising Goal

Newton, Iowa-based dsitributor The Vernon Company (UPIC: Vernon) surpassed its initial goal for the annual United Way fundraising campaign by nearly $1,500, raising a total of $23,390 for the United Way of Jasper County.

Corporate office employees raised $15,890 through a series of fundraising activities and several pledge card donations. Vernon supported employees’ fundraising efforts by pledging a $7,500 match towards the campaign.

“Our employees continue to amaze us with their support and generosity towards United Way, especially in these difficult economic times,” says Brad Lundquist, senior vice president of finance and administration. “I am proud to be associated with so many people who are willing to assist the local community by participating in such a worthwhile cause as the United Way.”
