PPAI LAW: PPAI Members Are Getting The Message Out About Sunshine Act

In the past 30 days, PPAI members have sent 1,276 e-mails through PPAI LAW, the Association’s legislative website, expressing their views on the Physician Payments Sunshine Act. This number brings the yearly total of e-mails through the site to 7,035.

Currently, the top five states seeing advocacy are Texas, Illinois, California, Florida and Pennsylvania. Additionally, with the passage of the healthcare bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, members are encouraged to contact their U.S. senators to address the impact of pending Senate healthcare legislation on promotional products business.

Both the Senate and House bills contain language similar to the Physician Payments Sunshine Act; reporting requirements in the bills may effectively eliminate the use of promotional products by many companies in the healthcare industry.
