PPAI News: PPAI Offers Free Seat On OrderTrax2 For Members

Issue: 2010jan

More than 100 PPAI members signed up for a free seat on the OrderTrax2 network in December, the first month of the offer. The free offer for the first user is available to all PPAI members and additional users on the system cost $199, says PPAI’s Penn Hoyt who is responsible for OrderTrax2’s sales and marketing.

Missy Flaharty with Flower Mound, Texas-based distributor Brand-It Promotions! (UPIC: BRANDIT), says OrderTrax2 has been a timesaver since the company started using in August 2009. The system allows Flaharty to request the status of an order, an invoice or other part of the transaction at the click of a button.

“We can definitely see its potential as a timesaving resource with more suppliers using it for more than just printing our purchase orders,” says Flaharty. “Everything related to the purchase order such as artwork, notes, correspondence between me and the supplier and shipping information, is in one location. I don’t have to search through my emails to find anything.”

OrderTrax² is the next generation of order management and communications software for the promotional products industry developed by PPAI. Since its launch in March 2009, more than 1.3 million transactions have passed through the system, says Hoyt. The order communication system enables all purchase orders and communications from trading partners to be tracked electronically on a single website.

“Being a web-based system allows anyone access to the data from any computer. Having the purchase order standardized helps to eliminate re-keying errors or the need for faxes,” he says. “It also enables members that don’t have their own IT department to play in the same sandbox as the big guys.”

OrderTrax² is based on the e-PSA open standards for the promotional products industry, which enables it to be integrated with any type of ERP/order entry platform within the industry. More than 700 companies, which range in size from two-person operations to the largest in the industry, are now using the system, says Hoyt.

“If OrderTrax² doesn’t revolutionize the industry, it’s going to come pretty darn close,” says Gene Geiger, MAS, president of Lewiston, Maine-based distributor Geiger (UPIC: geiger). “OrderTrax2 will bring about an enormous change in how we do business with our suppliers. Everyone in the distribution chain, suppliers and distributors alike, will have access to identical information. The cost savings will be tremendous and virtually anyone can afford this solution.”

Members who are attending The PPAI Expo 2010 in Las Vegas this week can stop by Booth #6055 to learn more about the system and sign up. For additional information or to sign up, visit www.ordertrax2.com and contact sales.
